Tier 4 student visa laws ‘harm universities’ says former Education Minister
UK universities are missing out on students from India because of the Government tightening immigration controls, a former education minister warns.
Labour’s Baroness Blackstone said the country risked being in a “very unfortunate position” when it came to attracting lucrative overseas students – worth billions of pounds to UK universities.
Her concerns were echoed by several peers at question time in the House of Lords, but Home Office minister Lord Henley said latest UCAS figures showed a 13% increase in university applications from students from outside the European Union. Continue reading
Tier 1 Post Study Work visa Advice
Tier 1 Post Study Work (PSW) is an immigration status that allows international students to stay and work in theUKfor up to two years after obtaining a degree from aUKinstitution.
Postgraduate Certificates and Postgraduate Diplomas are not eligible.
Students who have already been in the UK under Post Study Work are not eligible.
